ABSTRACT

Cirrhosis of the liver results in portal hypertension, which is a tortuous and dilated portal vein. The hemorrhage of digestive tract caused by dilation and rupture of lower esophagus and gastric fundus is the main cause of death in patients with cirrhosis. The treatment methods of digestive tract hemorrhage in liver cirrhosis include drug therapy, endoscopic hemostasis, interventional therapy to control hemorrhage and surgical hemostasis. These methods are mainly used to control hemorrhage and solve hypersplenism, but cannot solve the fundamental problem of cirrhosis. Stem cells can repair damaged liver cells and help restore liver function. Under the guidance of B-ultrasound, precise intrahepatic portal vein puncture and infusion of autologous bone marrow nucleated cells can improve cirrhosis through autologous bone marrow stem cells. Little damage to patients, little risk. Cell therapy combined with conventional therapy can treat both the symptoms and the root causes of digestive tract hemorrhage in cirrhosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare the effect of immediate implantation and delayed implantation on the surrounding tissue. Methods The clinical data of 98 cases of anterior teeth with single implant repair were analyzed retrospectively, and they were divided into study group (n =50) and control group (n =48) according to the method of implantation. The patients in the study group were implanted in the tooth socket immediately after the minimally invasive tooth extraction, and the patients in the control group were implanted after 12-16 weeks of minimally invasive extraction. All the two groups were repaired in coronal at 6 months after implantation. The success rate of implant, implant bone resorption, periodontal probing depth, gingival bleeding index, plaque index and red aesthetic score were compared between the two groups. Results The success rate was 100% in the two groups after 12 months, the difference was not statistically significant(P > 0.05).The implant surrounding bone absorption in the study group was lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (t =2.132,2.241,2.421,all P < 0.05).At the end of 3 and 6 months, the depth of probing in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group (t =2.019,2.307,all P < 0.05),and the red aesthetic score in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant [(7.97 ± 1.12) points vs.(6.82 ± 1.03) points,(8.65 ± 1.14) points vs.(7.42 ± 1.07) points,t =2.012,2.137,all P < 0.05].The modified sulcus bleeding index and plaque index had no statistically significant differences between the two groups (all P > 0.05).Conclusion The clinical effect of immediate implant restoration of anterior teeth is better than delayed implantation.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the regulatory effect of miR-126 on epidermal growth factor-like domain 7 (EGFL7) in ECV-304 cells.

METHODSThe miR-126-expressing plasmid targeting EGFL7 (plegfp-N1-miR-126) was constructed and transiently transfected into ECV-304 cells via liposome. The changes in the mRNA and protein expressions of EGFL7 in the transfected cells were analyzed by fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR and Western blotting.

RESULTSTransfection with the recombinant plasmid plegfp-N1/miR-126 resulted in decreased EGFL7 expression with the passage of time, and the expression reached the lowest level at 48 h after the transfection. The expression of EGFL7 protein was reduced by 67% following the transfection in comparison with the control level, while the transfection with the empty vector resulted in a reduction only by 6.5% relative to the control level.

CONCLUSIONSmiR-126 can downregulate EGFL7 expression at the protein level in ECV-304 cells.

ABSTRACT

Using plants to remove or inactivate heavy metal pollutants from soils and surface waters provide a cheap and sustainable approach of Phytoremediation. However, field trials suggested that the efficiency of contaminant removal using natural hyperaccumulators is insufficient, due to that many of these species are slow growing and produce little shoot biomass. These factors severely constrain their potential for large-scale decontamination of polluted soils. Moreover, both the micronutrient and toxic metal content accumulated in crops determine the quality and safety of our food-chain. By a transgenic approach, the introduction of novel genes responsible for hyperaccumulating phenotype into high biomass plants and/or stable crops uptaking minerals as food is a promising strategy for the development of effective techniques of phytoremediation and improvement of nutritional value of stable food through a viable commercialization. Recently, the progress at molecular level for heavy metal uptaking, detoxification and hyperaccumulation in plants, and also the clarification of some functional genes in bacteria, yeasts, plants and animals, have advanced the research on genetic engineering plants of heavy metal resistance and accumulation, and on the functional genes (e . g. gsh1, MerA and ArsC) and their genetic transformated plants. These studies demonstrated commercialization potentials of phytoremediation. In this paper, the molecular approach, effects and problems in gene transformation were discussed in details, and also the strategy and emphases were probed into the future research.

ABSTRACT

The clearance of proteins differing in charge and/or size (IgG4, total IgG and albumin) was evaluated in 95 diabetic patients. Urinary IgG4 values increased in group mi-croalbuminuria. The increased urinary IgG4 excretion correlated significantly with the degree of albuminuria and diabetic retinopathy. Urinary total IgG levels increased obviously only in group with massive macroalbuminuria. The IgG4/total IgG ratio was highest in group mi-croalbuminuria, and its change had a special pattern. Urinary IgG4 and IgG4/total IgG ratio may be sensitive parameters in assessing early protein charge-selectivity impairment and in detecting incipient diabetic nephropathy.
